Planets
If you have any questions, you can refer to some of the questions in the comment part by other astronomers I know,or simply email me at Valdricolim@yahoo.com.sg.
This my blog for civilians and amateur astronomers to ask me questions.I'm not so good in explaining some hard questions,so I may not be able to answer your questions correctly or unable at all as I am neither an amateur nor professional astronomer.Feel free to leave a comment where I stated for it to be allowed.

Q:Why some astronomers think Jupiter is a failed star?
A:Because it is enormous, heavy and has a huge amount of gravitional force.
Q:Why did the IAU demoted Pluto as a dwarf planet?
A:It is because it did not cleared out parts of its orbit, which is now known as the Kuiper Belt, where larger icy objects are found. It was named after Dutch-born american astronomer Gerard Kuiper. However, this decision of the IAU will most probably reversed in 2009.I will tell you more if you ask me.
Q:Why does Neptune has the fastest winds in our Solar System than any other celestial object?
A:Scientists think its because Neptune probably has a very hot core.Neptune's average temperature is slightly lower than Uranus's average temperature, although it is 1.024 billion miles farther from the Sun than Uranus. If Earth did not have hot core,we probably wont have much storms and wont live in a warm environment!
Q:What created Saturn's rings?
A:Many theorists think that a great impact of a large comet or moon on another moon of Saturn were responsible in creating Saturn's very-visible-spectacular rings. But no one knows, unless NASA's Cassini, launched 1997,reached Saturn 2004,and still within Saturn's orbit, gets more with info on its rings. However, this is still consider one of the greatest mysteries in the Universe.
Q:Is there any celestial object in the Kuiper Belt that is larger than Pluto?
A:Yes.Eris(a.k.a Xena and 2003UB313).Discovered 2005 by astronomer Mike Brown,it is almost 10% larger than Pluto. It has a satelite,Dysnomia. It comes no closer than 38AU and goes no farther then 97AU.Eris takes 557 Earth years to orbit the Sun,more than twice as long Pluto's 247 Earth years. At the time of its discovery,it reached its aphelion.
